Once you book a trip to the island, the operators will approach you on the ferry to see if you’re interested in scuba diving. The dive masters provide a one on one guide for those who decide to take up on the offer, so that those who have never dived before can do so. The deeper waters where the operators bring you hold a richer variety of large fish. Guided by experienced divers, you’ll see schools of large fish including barracudas, cod and snappers which are absent from the shallow waters of the beach in Pulau Payar. After an hour or two in the deep water, the divers will head back to Pulau Payar for some fun and relaxation.

• Tree Top Walk Sungai Sedim

The 950m-long Tree Top Walk in the Sedim River Recretion Park is the longest canopy walk in the world. The Tree Top Walk Sedim River was built within the low land of dipterocarp compartment 15 of Gunung Inas Forest Reserve. The spectacular view you get when you stroll through the jungle canopy is the main draw for visitors from far and wide to this quiet, all-natural corner of Kedah. Strolling high above the ground of this primeval rainforest affords visitors an unexpected and exciting perspective. Call it a "monkey's eye view". Visitors will enjoy the fabulous sight of rushing streams and truly fascinating flora and fauna – all from 50m up!

•       Whitewater rafting and kayaking

Located near Karangan town and in the Gunung Inas Nature Reserve, Sedim Recreation Park/ Hutan Rekreasi Sungai Sedim is the only location for whitewater rafting and kayak enthusiasts located in the north-west states. There are as many as 24 rapids within a 16km run (full day rafting) so you can expect some major excitement and screams on this ride!

•  Camping and Jungle Trekking

Gunung Jerai, located in the northern state of Kedah is 1200 meters above sea-level. In the olden days, Kedah Perak as it was then known played an important role as a navigating point for sailors from as far as the Middle East and Europe. Today, Gunung Jerai is Kedah's premier hill resort and recreational park. On a clear day atop the peak, the cool, refreshing mountain offers spectacular views of the rolling paddy fields of Kedah stretching up to Perlis, and the islands of Penang in the south and Langkawi in the north-west. Sungai Teroi Forest Recreational Park is a haven for a variety of unique mountain flora and fauna. Orchids, rhododendrons, pitcher plants grow abundantly within the park. 

Hiking Trails along wooded areas leading to the picnic site provide opportunities for nature lovers to enjoy leisurely strolls. The beauty of Gunung Jerai is best experienced while jungle trekking through the natural splendour of this rainforest treasure. For the move adventurous, camping sites, are provided along the trails. Basic camping facilities are available at a nominal fee of RM3 per person.
